It’s supposed to hit 81 today. So I figured I’d get the pool set up for the kid. Last year I spent like half an hour blowing this thing up by mouth, and never got it this solid. With the compressor it took 2 minutes. And a minute of that was remembering where I store itlast fall.

Our first car-camping trip with the Scouts taught me the importance of having a battery-powered inflato r for the air mattress. I was in the tent trying to blow up a mattress when I heard little compressors kicking on all around the campsite....

Nice. There’s a blow-up pool across the street that’s been kind of a permanent fixture. The temptation to set up the kiddie pool from the closet is high.

Can confirm. Last time we went camping I inflated the air mattress using a high flow tire inflator . I’ve never had an air mattress be that hard and it was delightful.

Inflatable pool? That’s like having TP in March!

The only thing more important I see in that photo is a privacy fence. We got our daughter one of these little pools and sitting in it in our small Minneapolis yard with only a chain link fence between me and the neighbors has been kind of funny.

We just picked up a 10’ semi inflatable pool. We had it set up last week and had to empty it already because the water got super gross. This time around we are running a little chemical dosing deal that has been keeping the water nice and clear. It’s killing my deck though, but we need to demo it anyway. I didn’t want to set it up on the grass because I’ve been working to get it into something that resembles a lawn after 12+ years of neglect from the previous home owners. It’s perfect too. Less than $100 and as long as it lasts the summer, works for me. Keeps the kids happy.

A pool big enough to swim in would be nice, but I like going to the lake too much to invest in it. This is more like a sit down and have a beer pool. Which is why I made a back rest for it.

I’m with you. I have no desire to own a real full size pool. I figure this one will last the summer and that’s plenty for me. Pools in Michigan never really did it for me, I’d rather be good friends with somebody who has a pool. Too much care and feeding for my tastes, for 2-3 months of usable time.

Not the same pool, but this is why concrete loft floors rule.
(I still don’t really remember how we drained it.)
